Beauty

is a moment

an inch

a day

A glimpse

A flash

It’s cliche

Beauty waits

And whispers

It’s selfish and demands

It tricks and conjures

But does not withstand

Beauty is not loyal

It’s jealous and cruel

It takes and leaves

It breaks with rule

It’s a mask

An illusion

Until it fades

And then true beauty takes on the days

Naturally aged

Blended in time

Twilight beauty

Wrinkled and white

Beauty can rest

And wait for night
